To decorate the children's room we do not need a high budget, but to use imagination and use cheap materials. A good example is this multicolored butterfly craft made from a toilet paper roll.

Crafts with paper rolls will teach children to take care of the environment and the possibilities that recycled materials have, as well as being an opportunity to have fun as a family doing children's crafts.

  • A roll of toilet paper
  • Dark green cardstock
  • Light green cardstock
  • Black card
  • Stickers or adhesive foami
  • Glue
  • Marker pen
  • Pair of scissors

1. Prepare all the materials. Print and cut out the template for the wings and antennae, which you can find HERE.

2. Cut a rectangle of light green (or dark green, you can combine the shade you prefer) the same width as the height of the paper roll, and long enough to cover the entire roll.

3. Mark the template on dark green card, and the antennas on black card (remember to make two with the same template). Cut out the pieces.

4. Fold the central part of the wings, which will be glued to the paper tube. Decorate the wings with stickers or adhesive foami, reserve two circles (you can make them with cardboard) to stick on the front of the roll and make the eyes of the butterfly.

5. Glue the wings and glue them to the back of the tube. Fold the upper part of the antennae, glue the lower part and glue them inside the roll.
